Marina, Monterey County — October 26, 2026. Marina residents are invited to name three city parks under an official community campaign running through December 31, 2026. The locations include City Park at the Dunes on Second Avenue, City Park at Sea Haven near Marina Heights Drive and Denali Road, and Hilltop Park near Ninth Street and Sandy Gulch Drive.
The Recreation & Cultural Services Department says entries should reflect local geography, natural features, history, ecology or native plants. Corporate sponsorships, political affiliations, culturally insensitive terms, names honoring individual people and duplicates of existing names are disallowed. The city requests one proposal per park from Marina residents.
After the deadline staff will screen proposals, the Recreation Commission will review qualified entries and the City Council will make final choices. Submission does not guarantee selection. Forms are available online and from City Hall, 211 Hillcrest Avenue, and can be emailed to Recreation@cityofmarina.org. The department lists 831-844-1253 for questions.
